After the success of The Masked Singer season 7, it was announced that there will be a season 8, and the premiere date has already been set. The Masked Singer season 7 aired its finale on May 18th, crowning Firefly, who was revealed as singer Teyana Taylor, as their winner. The finale also saw The Goldbergs actress Hayley Orrantia as Ringmaster and Broadway actor Cheyenne Jackson as Prince make it to the final three. Season 7 also contained one of the most controversial moments in The Masked Singer history, when former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was revealed as the Jack in the Box.

It's no surprise the singing competition show is coming back for another season and fans finally have a premiere date. The Masked Singer announced on its official Twitter account that the beloved show will be back on Wednesday, September 21st. "Get your guessing caps ready!" The account wrote. The Masked Singer has aired two seasons a year since its premiere in 2019, with one season in the spring and one in the fall. With season 8, they're continuing their typical schedule.

Fans were excited about the news and are already trying to figure out which celebrities may appear in the next season of The Masked Singer. "Can't wait to see more of what you got @MaskedSingerFOX and more of Sherlock Scherzy," Twitter user @ben02411 replied, referencing panelist Nicole Scherzinger's nickname on the show. However, some fans are still angry at the show for featuring Giuliani and were throwing in some celebrities they think would be equally as cruel for season 8. One suggested Amber Heard, who recently lost a defamation trial to ex-husband Johnny Depp.

With the success of The Masked Singer, the show won't be going anywhere anytime soon. All four panelists, as well as host Nick Cannon, seem to love being on the show and can't wait to get back to their guessing for the new season. Hopefully, the show steers clear of controversy for the new season and sticks to celebrities that fans actually want to see on their screen. If they do, The Masked Singer season 8 is sure to make viewers happy.
